If you’re the oldest male in your family, yoube able to blame more than just cheeseburgers for being overweight!
there's a new study out of New Zealand that shows being the first-born can make you fat.
Researchers at the University of Auckland recruited middle-aged guys who were either the first or second child in their family. The average weight of the first-borns was about 2-hundred pounds, while the younger brothers topped out at a hundred-85 pounds.
The study also found that older brothers showed 33% lower insulin sensitivity than younger brothers. Scientists think something might happene in the womb that makes firstborns more vulnerable to metabolic problems.
Interestingly, researchers think that these statistics might not apply to women!
