While 14 million people are expected to take to the skies this Labor Day weekend, that's nothing compared to the amount of folks hitting the highways to get out of town!. In fact, get ready for some road rage, because the roadways will be jammed with more cars than we’ve seen in the past six years.

The AAA predicts that 34.7 million of us in America will drive at least 50 miles from home this holiday weekend, the highest number since a decline in 2008 due to the recession, and 1.3 percent more than last year.

Labor Day weekend usually sees more travel, but lower gas prices these days are making it even busier on the road.  At the beginning of the month, gas prices were at their lowest since 2010.

And overall people seem to be giving themselves permission to spend more.
