Maybe you remember hearing about the two young Amish girls in upstate New York who were kidnapped and sexually abused.

The girls were 12 and 7 years old.  About 24 hours after they were kidnapped and released, they showed up at Jeffrey and Pamela Stinson's cold and hungry.   They asked to be taken home.  But the girls were so hungry, The Stinson's gave them some watermelon and they said they ate the whole watermelon in under a minute.  Then, Jeffrey and Pamela decided to take the girls back to their family around 15 miles away before calling the police.  They all had quiet a scare on the way!  A  car tailed them closely all the way to the girls' home before finally speeding off.  They thought they were going to be shot at!

Well, now the Amish community wants to say thank you to Jeffrey and Pamela. Since the Stinson's don't need a barn, the Amish plan to hold a "garage raising" to replace the Stinson's garage that recently burned down. They told them they won't take no for an answer.

By the way, the police did later capture the alleged kidnappers, Stephen Howells and Nicole Vaisey.  They say the men planned to make the girls their sex slaves, but got scared by the heavy media coverage and just abandoned the girls, luckily, near the Stinson house.
