Watch: Raccoons In Ontario Neighborhood Are Getting Drunk

Residents of one Ontario neighborhood are seeing more and more drunk raccoons.

Emily Rodgers took video of one of the critters stumbling around her yard. A bylaw officer that lives in the same area also witnessed an intoxicated raccoon. It turns out the animals don’t have a private stash; they’re eating fermented fruits. The recent high temperatures have been “cooking” the fruits.

Biology professor Michael Runtz is asking anyone who sees inebriated raccoons to just leave them alone to sleep it off. Shockingly, some people have come up with the idea to give the animals coffee.
