Kid Forced To Take Off Shirt With Picture Of Snake On It At Airport

Be careful about what kind of t-shirt you wear to the airport.

A 10-year-old New Zealand boy was forced to flip his shirt inside out after airport officials determined its print could make other passengers feel anxious.

Stevie Lucas was vacationing in South Africa to visit his grandparents when security officials at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg told him that he would need to take his shirt off.

The shirt included a large, realistic print of a green snake and they felt that it might make other passengers uncomfortable. So his choices were to remove the shirt all together or turn it inside out. He opted to turn it inside out. He was allowed to board the plane without any further incident.

The airport defended its decision saying security has the right to determine if something might cause harm to other passengers or crew members.
