Four years after a man scraped his elbow in a bike accident, doctors found a rare black mold growing on his brain.

Due to an extremely rare fungus that entered Tyson Bottenus' body through the scrape, Tyson has experienced splitting headaches, facial paralysis, and several other debilitating symptoms.

The fungus has only had 120 cases worldwide since its first discovery in 1911. In an interview, Tyson says, "That was great to figure that out, but it's not great that I have fungus in my head."
