Texas-based Rising S Bunkers has seen a huge spike in sales after Russia invaded Ukraine last week. General manager Gary Lynch says he usually sells between two and six shelters a month but sold five on the first day of the invasion. He says a lot of the customers are worried the invasion could lead to World War III.
The company’s shelters range from a ‘mini bunker’ priced just under $40k to an ‘aristocrat’ bunker that can shelter up to 44 people for $8.35 million. The bunkers are buried 11 feet underground when installed, and Lynch says his customers range from professional athletes to celebrities to politicians and tech companies.
