Choosing the right place to live isn’t simple, but “U.S. News & World Report” is trying to make the decision a little easier.

  • The magazine has come out with their annual list of the Best Places to Live in the U.S.
  • The magazine ranked the 150 largest metropolitan areas based on affordability, desirability and quality of life, with the ranking determined partly by a public survey of thousands of individuals across the U.S.
  • They also looked at data from the United States Census Bureau, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and more.
  • Coming in at number one is Huntsville, Alabama, earning an overall score of seven out of ten, and earning high marks for strong housing affordability and high quality of life (6.8).
  • Three new cities joined the Top Five this year, Colorado Springs, Colorado, now two, Green Bay, Wisconsin, which jumped 18 spots to three, and San Jose, California, up 31 spots to five.
