The Most Dangerous Beaches In The U.S.

Millions of Americans will be heading to the beach this summer for some fun in the sun, but there are some risks involved. While no one wants to think about all the things that could go wrong when they’re enjoying the sand and surf, those dangers are out there, and a new report tells us where they’re the worst.

  • New research from Simmrin Law reveals the most dangerous beaches in the country.
  • To come up with their list, their experts analyzed different criteria, including hurricane strikes, shark attacks and surf zone fatalities, like rip currents.
  • All of the top 10 most dangerous U.S. beaches are all in Florida, and it turns out, the entire top 25 list is all Florida beaches except for one - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
  • Topping the list is New Smyrna Beach, which has the highest likelihood of shark attacks.
  • According to the research, it’s not the shark attacks that make the Sunshine State’s beaches so unsafe, it’s the hurricane risk and the storm surge and deadly rip currents that hurricanes bring.
