Fireball Meteor Causes Loud Boom Over New York City And New Jersey

 Rock go boom. People in parts of New York City and New Jersey lit up phone lines when a loud boom rattled the area, trying to find out what was happening. According to NASA, it was a daylight fireball meteor. A daylight fireball is a type of meteor that’s bright enough to been seen during daylight hours as it burns in the atmosphere. NASA’s Meteor Watch team says the daylight fireball was seen at 11:17 am ET, and flew around 49-miles above Upper Bay in Jersey City before disintegrating 29-miles above Midtown, Manhattan. No meteorites were produced by the meteor according to NASA.
