One member of Team USA Gymnastics is helping to provide emotional support and reduce stress among the athletes: their four-year-old golden retriever therapy dog, Beacon. Providing comfort to gymnasts like Simon Biles, Suni Lee, and others, Beacon is always on call during high-pressure moments. Unfortunately, logistical issues prevented him from being able to attend the Paris Olympics, but Beacon and his owner, Tracey Callahan Molnar, continue to support the team from their home in California. Beacon’s presence is a physical reminder of Team USA Gymnastics’ dedication to the wellbeing of its athletes, with mental health being as much of a priority as physical health.
