Gessica Geca took her grandma and other family members to a restaurant located in Italy for her birthday. In the days ahead of the family event, Gessica asked the establishment whether she could bring a cake for the birthday girl to blow out the candles. They said “yes.”
However, after enjoying a nice meal, she got the check and was floored to see a $60 fee for the cutting and serving of the cake. Gessica claims she was informed this was a rule of the establishment and they were forced to pay.
She posted about it on Facebook which drew tons of comments, many expressing shock at the restaurant policy. The owner of the restaurant commented, "My restaurant needs to pay the waiter, the dishwasher, and other related services. We need to recover these costs somehow."
