Jason Aldean doesn't want to get into any political discussions about gun control, even though several of his fans lost their lives to a crazed shooter during the Route 91 Harvest Festival in October.
He tells Entertainment Weekly, "I’m not a politician. I’m not trying to push my own agenda. If I say that I believe this, I’m gonna piss off half of the people, and if I say I believe that, I’m gonna piss off the other half. I have my opinions, but what the hell do I know?"
He does feel that kids spend too much time playing violent virtual reality games. "They sit down for hours and hours, and that starts to become actual reality. Get out and throw a ball, you know what I’m saying? I think that’s part of the problem, but I don’t know."
Jason is definitely going back to Las Vegas on April 15th to perform at the ACM Awards, where he is up for Entertainer of the Year.
I totally understand where Jason is coming from, but many people feel like Jason is in the perfect position to speak out because he was on stage during the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
How do you feel about the issue? Do you think he's doing the right thing staying out of it, or should he speak his mind?
