Little Big Town will be featured on the upcoming Elton John tribute album, “Restoration,” where they put a unique spin on his classic “Rocket Man.”
The band’s version of the tune actually features sounds from NASA’s Mission Juno to explore the planet Jupiter, which is one of the things that appealed to the band about the recording.
Karen Fairchild says the group was “intrigued” by the idea of using the sounds and notes that they then decided to record it a cappella, and jokes that they were then “off to the races,” or as Phillip Sweet points out, “Space race.”
