1st Grader Finds Out She Has Blake's Textbook That He Used in 1982

Oklahoma teachers have staged a walkout for better pay and pensions, as well as increased education funding, and a mother used Blake Shelton to show how badly schools really need that money.

Shelly Bryan Parker lives in Ada, Oklahoma, where Blake grew up, and posted a picture of her daughter Marley proudly holding her “new” school book “Look Away (Keys to Reading).”  But the book was far from new.  In fact, it once belonged to Blake, back in 1982.

“Marley is EXCITED that her “new” reader belonged to Blake Shelton, but I am EMBARRASSED!!!!” Shelly wrote.  “I’m 40 and these people are my age!!!”

She added, “Thank you to every teacher/parent/support staffer/etc. for fighting for my kids education!!! Don’t give up until education is FULLY FUNDED!!!! #fundOKED #Okwalk4kids #westillloveblake.”

  • ONE MORE THING!  Blake's girlfriend Gwen Stefani may be a California girl, but now Blake has dubbed her an “adopted Okie.”  He shared His proclamation on Twitter, noting she got the honor because of her “arrowhead finding eye.”  He added, “Side note: I love you pretty girl… #truth.”
