**UPDATE**: Letter From Rosie

5/9

It's sooo good to be back!!  This was my first morning back on the air after about 4 weeks, but I couldn't leave without thanking you all so much . . . for all the cards, messages, memes, thoughts, and prayers!  You have no idea how much they meant to me.  Each one cheered me up and brightened my day!  I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family!  Thank you again and I'll be back tomorrow with some more pictures!

ROSIE IS BACK!

5/3 Hi everyone! I’ve got some news! I’m coming back to Q102 next week!

Now to be honest, I haven’t missed waking up at 2:30 every morning. But I’ve missed you so much, and I’ve missed laughing every day with you and Chris...

I really can’t wait until we’re all back together again. As for my health, I’m still sore, but healing well, and when I look at the get well cards you’ve sent me, and the flowers, I get really anxious to get back to you, my friends, and laugh with you every morning.

So the plan is I will return Wednesday morning! That'll be May 9th! I’m just not sure how are cats are going to make it… They’ve been using me as their personal recliner for the past several weeks now!

I’ll see you all Wednesday – can’t wait!

Love, Rosie

4/30 Happy Bloom! Chris and I caught up with each other Sunday night, and he told me how many of you were asking about me, which made me feel really wonderful.

I'm healing well, but it's taking more time than I thought. I'm hoping to be back on the air soon, but I'm going to miss AppleBlossom. I was really looking forward to the parade, and at the Country Music party, but I'm just not healed enough yet from my operation, so I'll be there in spirit with you. Take plenty of pictures so I can see how much fun the new Event Center is.

I miss being with you in the mornings, and spending time laughing with Chris here at my house reminds me how much fun we have with you...I can't wait to be back with you again!

Thank you for all the cards and messages that are still coming to me, and especially for the prayers.  Please keep them coming, they help so much!

Rosie

4/20 I know it’s been a while since my last update, I wanted to tell you all how overwhelmed I was with all of your messages and especially your prayers. It’s like I can feel them. Many of you have reached out to me on Facebook, Messenger, email… And many of you have sent cards to the station. It’s also sweet, and humbling, and more strengthening then I can begin to tell you. When I saw the messages you wrote to me on the get well cards, I have to be honest, it brought tears to my eyes. Taking time out of your busy day just to come and give me some words of encouragement means so much to me. I also want to thank everyone at the Pink Ribbon Luncheon for doing so much for me.  I hated that I had to miss it…the first I’ve missed in 12 years…but Chris assured me that you made sure I was “there” in spirit, and I was thinking about you.

As for me, there is still pain, but I’m strong. It's nothing I can’t handle. I have a wonderful support system (that includes you!) and my cats, all three of them, love the fact that they are getting tons of “lap time.“ Tomorrow I will see my oncologist to find out if they got all the cancer during the operation, and will be making a plan on treatment going forward. I’m expecting to be able to update you a little more frequently, only because I won’t be on so much pain medicine going forward, which has made me very sleepy.

Knowing that I’m in your thoughts, knowing that you’re praying for me truly lifts me up. I’ve always loved sharing the mornings with you, but I can appreciate each one of you in a brand new way now. I’m thinking of you while you’re thinking of me, Rosie

4/19 Chris hosted the Pink Ribbon Luncheon with Valley Health. For years Rosie has co-hosted the event, of course this year she could not be in attendance. We're blown away by the love and support shown for Rosie at the luncheon today (we know she'll be touched too!). Banners were made for all of the guests to sign, sending well wishes to Rosie. See video and pictures of the event below.

**POST-SURGERY UPDATE**

I'm still a litlle groggy from the medicine, so I'm sorry if this doesn't all make sense, but I wanted to give you an update.

My surgery went very well. If I don't move at all, I'm fine, otherwise there's a lot of pain, which I was expecting.

Thank you for your messages and prayers, they have meant so much to me- I can't say how much. I look at them and it's like you're all here with me, and it feels so nice to think of you being in my corner for me. When I'm less loopy from the pain medication I'll try responding to them again.

To my Q102 Family:

You may have heard us talking about this earlier in the morning, and you may not have, but I wanted you to get the news straight from me, so I thought I’d write you this little letter . . .

I have breast cancer.  I won’t be coming in to Q102 to be with you and Chris in the mornings for the next few weeks.  I have surgery on Wednesday (April 11th) and will be home recovering after that.   Your prayers will mean so much to me and I’m thanking you in advance.  I’m really going to miss being here and talking with you every morning, but I’ll be back as soon as I can and we’ll catch up.   I’ll try to keep you updated.  It will just depend on how well I feel.  You all mean so much to me, and knowing I have your support and prayers will get me through.

Love,

Rosie
