A post office in Bakersfield, California has officially been renamed for Merle Haggard. Merle's sister and widow were among the 300 or so people who came out to celebrate the renaming of the post office his hometown. The event took place Friday on what would have been Merle’s 81st birthday, which was also the second anniversary of his death.
