NYC Restaurant Creates Pizza Crust Ice Cream

A restaurant in New York City has done the most New York thing by making ice cream out of pizza crust. The creators at Bruno Pizza in the East Village have made the ice cream from their signature dough, which gets baked, ripped apart, toasted and charred before being steeped in gelato base overnight and thrown into an ice cream maker. Owner Demian Repucci says he took inspiration from his favorite cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch for the ice cream. He says “It tastes toasty, malty, [and] a little sweet.” You can grab yours now at Bruno’s served in a bowl or over cinnamon-sugar pizza for five-dollars a scoop. Not local? Hit up your local joint and beg 'em for it!
