Experts at Sleep Clinic Services say hitting snooze makes your brain release hormones which would usually send you into a deep sleep—when you’ve only got a few minutes to sleep.
This ultimately causes “sleep inertia”—or that groggy feeling you often get when you sleep in on the weekends. The experts note, “The start of the sleep cycle is not a good time for being jolted awake by your alarm again.”
