Disney's new streaming service will be called, "Disney Play." The service is going up against Netflix sometime in 2019. Disney Play will offer Disney content to its users, which could be anything from Mickey Mouse to The Avengers. They will also populate Disney Play with their newly acquired 20th Century Fox movies and shows as well.
#Disney’s Streaming Service Name Announced to be “#DisneyPlay” - The streaming service will, regrettably, end Netflix’s ability provide customers with films and television shows under the company’s umbrella. This includes the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, and the enormous catalog of Disney and (soon to be) 20th Century Fox films. The final installment of the MCU that will be available for Netflix is set to be Ant-Man and the Wasp. There was no indication, however, of what this will mean for the Marvel Netflix shows. In addition, the report seemed to indicate that the upcoming 2019 films Captain Marvel, Dumbo, The Lion King, Toy Story 4, Frozen 2 and Star Wars: Episode IX film will be key selling points for the upcoming service. The service, however, will reportedly not be nearly as expensive as Netflix. The actual amount is currently unknown but the report seemed to indicate that the subscription fee will be significantly given the lighter content load. Hopefully, the price will be worth the content.
