Say it ain't so! A whopping 500 locations across the United States are closing! But this isn't what you may think. Subway has plans to open stores abroad which means they need to close certain stores in the U.S. first.
According to Thrillist,
The impending domestic closures are part of Subway's plan to expand its restaurant empire abroad... as the chain has been reducing its footprint in the past couple years, shuttering some 800 locations alone in 2016.
Keep in mind... Subway remains the largest in terms of global store count with nearly 26,000 locations in the US alone! So it's no time to panic... but please don't take my footlong subs away!
