It’s been 75 years since Betty Sue Sissom had her wallet stolen, but it was recently found - along with 14 others - during a high school renovation. All of the wallets were from the mid-1940s and were found stuffed inside a heating vent at the old Centralia High School in Illinois. The money was long gone, but the vintage wallets still had photos, information and documents inside.
The Missouri woman, now 89, has finally been reunited with her wallet after more than seven decades. She has enjoyed getting to see this blast from her past, especially the pictures inside. “This is exciting,” Sissom says. “I can’t believe it after all of these years.”
