A Maine resident was shot and killed after he set off his own booby trap on Thanksgiving.
Police say 65-year-old Ronald Cyr of Van Buren died of injuries sustained at his home after a handgun, that was rigged to shoot anyone entering through the front door, went off. But not before he called 911.
As rescuers came to his aid, several other booby traps were also found at his home, causing investigators to contact the Maine State Police Bomb Squad.
Booby traps are illegal in some states, including Kentucky, where a man was arrested for having one on his porch earlier this year.
