A Connecticut mall shut down last night after fights broke out.
Over two hundred people were involved in a string of fights that started in the food court of the CT Post Mall. A witness said one person in the original fight had a gun, but it wasn’t used.
K-9 officers came in to clear the building after fights spread all the way to the bus area outside. Police believe the fighting was done by kids under 18 who were unsupervised. No arrests have been made, yet. Luckily, no one was injured, but the mall was damaged.
Mall officials released a statement saying, “Because the safety and security of our shoppers, employees and retailers is our top priority, we worked closely and in full cooperation with Milford PD and other local law enforcement to clear mall common areas… Connecticut Post Mall is committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for all our guests. We will continue wo work diligently with local law enforcement to prevent future incidents. We are reviewing our policy regarding juvenile patrons and will make any necessary modifications needed to provide a safe and comfortable shopping environment.”
Two other Connecticut shopping centers recently added curfews due to fights.
