Family Stranded After GPS Tells Them To Drive On A Snowmobile Trail

We may trust our GPS too much. One family in New Hampshire did.

A family with five kids was trying to get from the Bretton Woods ski area in New Hampshire to a hotel on Saturday when the driver (we don’t know which parent) was told by the GPS system to use a seasonal road open only to snowmobiles.

The family was stuck for seven hours after their minivan slid off the path. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says the driver, though following the GPS, ignored the signs declaring the area only safe for snowmobiles.

The rescuers came in on ATVs and… snowmobiles.
