Atari Plans To Build Video Game Themed Hotels

If you think the perfect vacation involves planting yourself in front of video games, Atari has the hotel for you!

That’s right, we said Atari. As in the game maker. Atari plans to open its own themed hotels in eight cities, each with the latest virtual and augmented reality technology. Some will also include space for esports events.

Some of the rooms will have the retro style while others are more “Ready Player One.”

Local visitors get a sweet perk - they won't even need a reservation to play. The classic video game brand expects to break ground in Phoenix first by summer. The other locations will be in Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle.

The bad news is, you’ll have to wait two years for the first one to open.
