John Boyega Lashes Out At 'Racist' Fans After George Floyd's Killing

John Boyega is fed up with racial injustice.

The Star Wars actor took to social media on Wednesday (May 27) with a string of tweets denouncing racism following the killing of George Floyd, the Black man seen on video being pinned to the ground by a Minneapolis police officer who forced his knee down on Floyd’s neck to keep him apprehended. “I really f—king hate racists,” Boyega wrote in a tweet, which has already gained over 1 million likes on Twitter.

"This just burns. Seems to be a never ending cycle. The murderers need to be charged severely. Even in the face of death this man was given zero empathy. #RIPGeorgeFloyd #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd,” he added, sharing an image remembering some of Floyd’s last words captured in the clip, including: “Please, I can’t breathe” and “They’re going to kill me.”

While most fans applauded Boyega’s words, his critics thought his sentiments were over the top, to which he replied, “I said what I said.”

Despite the criticism, the 28-year-old remained unapologetically firm on his sentiments, and even got on Instagram Live with a message for “racist white people.”

"I'm not even apologizing, first of all," he started in the video. "A Black man was just murdered in cold blood in the streets stateside, again, while saying that he can't breathe. That's a continuous cycle going on. Although I don't live in the states, but I'm Black. F— that. So I'll say it again, f— you racist white people."

"If you don't f—ing like it, go suck a d—, seriously. It's not about career, it's not about money," Boyega continued. "All those things were just a part of my dream, just a part of working. That's got nothing to do with how you treat people."

Boyega isn't the only star to react to Floyd's killing, either — these celebrities have spoken out as well.
