Tell us: Is there anything more annoying than getting a rude work e-mail?

A new study out of the University of Illinois - Chicago found that rude work emails can cause lasting stress to workers –affecting their sleep, health and relationships.

Study authors identified two main types of rude work emails: active email rudeness, where people make demeaning or disrespectful comments, and passive email rudeness -- where emails just aren’t answered or are brief and evasive. No surprise – the active rude emails caused negative emotions in the recipients, while the passive rude emails left people feeling anxious and led to sleep problems.
