A Texas grandmother missing for three days is found alive thanks to her dog. On Tuesday, May 3rd, Sherry Noppe took her black labrador Max for a walk in George Bush Park, a 7,800 acre park near Sherry’s home in west Houston. Sherry was recently diagnosed with mild dementia, but her family said she was very familiar with the park.
When she didn’t return home on Tuesday afternoon, her family called the police and a search crew began looking for her on Wednesday. They continued their search on Thursday, but had to suspend the operation because of heavy weather. They resumed the search early Friday and searchers say they could hear a faint dog bark.
For several hours, search crews called out for Sherry and Max and would occasionally hear a dog bark in response. They followed the bark until they located Sherry at around 3am on Friday morning. She was found lying in a marshy area, cold and muddy, but alive. And Max was right there by her side. Both Sherry and Max were checked out and found to be in good health and are now recovering at home with their family.
