Another TikTok trend is in the news, and this one has now proven to be deadly. The “Angel of Death” truck challenge, where someone jumps in front of a moving truck and only successfully completes the challenge if the truck stops, has claimed the lives of two Indonesian teenagers.
The worst thing is that it’s not even a new challenge, having been around since last year. In July of 2021, CNN Indonesia reported a teenager died attempting the challenge. A TikTok spokesperson said the “disturbing ‘challenge’ long predates our platform and has never been a TikTok trend.”
