An 89-year-old pig farmer is on trial for murdering his wife in 1982 and hiding her body in a septic tank behind their house so he could continue a longstanding affair. How did they catch him? David Venables sold the house to his nephew, who had the septic tank emptied in 2019 and a human skull was found inside. DNA testing confirmed that the bones found in the tank belonged to his missing wife, Brenda. He denies killing her; the trial is expected to take around six weeks.
