(Miami, FL) -- Florida is kicking off the 2022 Python Challenge. Speaking in Miami, Governor Ron DeSantis said the challenge is a way to help the restoration of the Everglades by removing invasive Burmese pythons from the wild. Last year's challenge removed 223 pythons, which is more than double from the year before. The ten-day challenge opens on August 5th, but both novice and professional hunters can register and complete online training starting today
