Canadian Abbas Zoeb of Toronto was flying to San Francisco on July 6th when visa problems prevented him from boarding the plane. He was told that while he wouldn’t be flying to San Francisco, his luggage and his two cats, who were already aboard in the baggage compartment would be…and he would have to make it there on his own to get them.
The story has a happy ending, at least; Abbas says he was reunited with his pets 15 hours after checking them in at the luggage terminal. Air Canada’s website says it will no longer allow pets to be checked into the baggage compartment due to “longer than usual airport delays.”
