Researchers at Reichman University say that flirting with someone online can ruin your relationships by making your current partner look less appealing in the real world. Professor Gurit Birnbaum, who led the study, says that participants who flirted in an online chat during the study saw their real partner in a more negative light both consciously and unconsciously.

Even worse, analysis of the results showed that participants who flirted online were more likely to fantasize about their chat partner than their real one. The fantasies were analyzed by independent judges.
