La Nina To Return To The US For Third Year

For the third year in a row, meteorologists says La Nina will stick around again this year in the Northern Hemisphere, making it the first “triple-dip” La Nina of this century. The climate pattern is marked by cooler-than-average ocean water in the central Pacific. A typical La Nina winter in the US brings cold and snow to the Northwest, dry conditions to the southern US, and warmer-than-average temps for the southeast and mid-Atlantic states.
