Across the world about 250 ATM machines are installed every day. Credit card skimmers are cropping up in 7-Eleven and other stores and ATMs across the country. The devices fake out customers who then swipe their debit and EBT cards. That’s when thieves take the card info and then use it. Here’s how to protect yourself: only use a chip card in a reader, check the card reader for a fake top plate, use Apple or Google Pay instead, pay with cash. Another thing to check, at ATMS, is for a tiny camera focused on where you type your pin into.
