Comedian and former "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno was seriously injured in a fire that started as he worked on one of his prized antique cars. Yesterday, Jay left the hospital as he looks to continue healing at home over the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Grossman Burn Center announced yesterday that Leno had been released following ten days at the facility, sharing a photo of Leno smiling with some of the staff who have treated him. See the picture here.
His doctor had previously warned that Jay may suffer from permanent scarring as a result of his injuries but said in a statement yesterday he is "pleased with the progress Jay has made" after skin grafts and spending time in a hyperbaric chamber. Dr. Peter Grossman added that he is 'optimistic that he will make a full recovery,' as he continues to receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic 'for burns to his face, chest, and hands.'
