You can keep the spirit of Christmas alive and well in your older kids, it just takes planning. It’s a struggle, at times, to keep older children engaged in all that surrounds the holiday season, but here are some tips thanks to “Little Things.”
- Make them part of the mission. Give them the opportunity to be an important part of another family member’s experience.
- Give them a real life example of what giving truly is and have them be part of it
- Make new traditions with them
- Build up the anticipation
- Keep an old tradition that they can get into
- Redefine festive to fit where your family is on the life stage chart
- Go all out on decorating with them
- Let them contribute
