If you’re planning to dust off your passport and do some traveling this year, Tripadvisor is here to help. Their 2023 Travelers’ Choice Awards are out to give you some ideas. The winners were chosen based on a year’s worth of reviews and ratings on Tripadvisor. They rank the most popular destinations overall, as well as top destinations for Europe, food, nature and trending destinations.
- Dubai tops the list for the most popular destination in the world for the second year in a row.
- London holds onto its title as Europe’s most popular destination, but it slips to third place in the global ranking, just behind second-place Bali, Indonesia.
- In the trending destinations category - which includes locations that have seen the biggest year-over-year growth in interest on Tripadvisor - Cuba is number one, followed by the city of Hoi An in Vietnam.
- In the U.S., New York City comes in 23rd for most popular destinations overall, while in the food destination category, New Orleans is ninth, Charleston, South Carolina is 11th and New York City is 19th.
