Omega-3 Pet Supplements Are Recalled For Potentially Lethal Reasons

The FDA has released a statement saying that Stratford Care USA, Inc is recalling 62 brands of Omega-3 supplements for cats and dogs over concern for "potentially elevated levels of Vitamin A.” The recall went into effect "after receiving a single Serious Adverse Event from a sole consumer” The issue is Vitamin A toxicity, which can lead to seizures and death. Most of the supplemnts were sold by private veterinarians. Supplements to be on the lookout for were sold in white plastic containers containing 60 soft gels. All the containers recalled are labeled with “lot 31133 EXP 04/13/23” or “lot 30837 EXP 10/26/22,” and have been sold under 60 different brand names. The list of brands is here
