CMT Crossroads Featuring Darius Rucker And The Black Crowes Airs Tomorrow

Last month during the CMT Music Awards fans were treated to a pairing of rockers the Black Crowes and former rocker-turned-country star Darius Rucker as they performed the Crowes "She Talks To Angels" live. Tomorrow we get to see and hear how they sound together on a variety of tunes from both artists and a couple cover tunes as they team up for an episode of "CMT Crossroads."

The two acts have been friends for years, and Darius says he was influenced by the Black Crowes in his early Hootie & The Blowfish days. "I've been a fan of The Black Crowes for decades, and I'm grateful that we've also become good friends over the years," Rucker says. "The first time I heard 'She Talks to Angels,' I remember being so moved by the lyrics that I went around Columbia, South Carolina, asking every single bar to play it." He goes on to say that there is a direct through-line from that song to Hootie's classic, "Let Her Cry."

In the episode, the two acts swap stories and perform on each other's biggest hits, including The Black Crowes' take on Otis Redding's "Hard To Handle," as well as Crowes originals "She Talks to Angels," and "Remedy," along with the Hootie song "Let Her Cry," the Old Crow Medicine Show's "Wagon Wheel" and Drivin N Cryin's Southern rock anthem "Straight To Hell."

"CMT Crossroads: The Black Crowes & Darius Rucker" is a one-hour episode and will premiere 10p/9c Tuesday, May 16th, with an immediate encore at 11p/10c and 12a/11c on Friday, May 19th. The show will also go live on Wednesday, May 17th on CMT.com, CMT VOD, and the MTV app (CMT Crossroads), with subsequent premieres on CMT MUSIC and MTV LIVE.
