Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and other state leaders met with the press to give an update on the major disaster at the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. The bridge that carries I-695 traffic over the Patapsco River collapsed due to a ship strike overnight, sending multiple vehicles into the water. The ship apparently lost power and could not avoid hitting the structure. Officials say one person was pulled from the water uninjured and another was taken to a hospital in serious condition. They add that about seven others are still in the water and dive teams are searching for them. First responders, fire boats and emergency personnel have been on the scene since just after 1:30 Eastern when the bridge collapsed into the water. Maryland Governor Wes Moore has declared a state of emergency.
