LinkedIn’s annual Top Companies list came out this week, highlighting the 50 best workplaces for career growth in the U.S. in 2024. This year’s companies include well-known names in tech, health care and financial services.
- LinkedIn breaks the report down into two lists: one for midsize companies with at least 250 employees and one for large companies employing 5-thousand or more workers.
- To come up with the ranking, they use LinkedIn data to rate companies on eight “pillars that have been shown to lead career progression.”
- The pillars include skills growth, gender diversity, the ability to advance and company stability.
- Companies that laid off 10% or more of their workforce between January 2023 and April 2024 weren’t eligible for the list, including Citi, which was 14th on last year’s list, but announced plans to eliminate 10% of employees in January.
- The list includes returning companies like JP Morgan Chase & Co, this year’s number one, but nearly half (44%) of them are new to the Top Companies list.
