Certainly not something we had on our 2024 bingo cards, but we're not complaining. An unreleased 1993 album by Johnny Cash will soon be seeing the light of day. At the time, Cash was in between record contracts so he quietly worked on songs before meeting Rick Rubin the following year, enjoying a late career resurgence starting with his "American Recordings" album in 1994. The 1993 sessions were ultimately shelved, but will be released as the 11-song collection "Songwriter" on June 28. The first track, "Well Alright," was released yesterday.
