Beginning this weekend, potlucks and grilling are going to ramp up. Since you don’t want to make anyone sick from your recipes, here are some food safety tips to remember:
- Make sure your hands and food surfaces are clean
- Keep raw meats and seafood stored away from other foods
- Rinse veggies and fruits off before prepping them
- Keep cold foods cold and don’t leave it out for more than two hours if it’s cooler than 90 degrees out
- Keep hot food hot and if it’s out for two hours, pitch it
- Cook foods thoroughly
- Have a condiment cooler and keep it all in there
