Food Safety Tips For Your Cookout

Beginning this weekend, potlucks and grilling are going to ramp up. Since you don’t want to make anyone sick from your recipes, here are some food safety tips to remember:

  • Make sure your hands and food surfaces are clean
  • Keep raw meats and seafood stored away from other foods
  • Rinse veggies and fruits off before prepping them
  • Keep cold foods cold and don’t leave it out for more than two hours if it’s cooler than 90 degrees out
  • Keep hot food hot and if it’s out for two hours, pitch it
  • Cook foods thoroughly
  • Have a condiment cooler and keep it all in there
