Park Rangers Bake Banana Bread In Car During Western Heatwave

There’s a heatwave on both coasts right now, but is it hot enough to cook outside? Rangers with the Saguaro National Park by Tucson, Arizona decided to give cooking on their dashboard a shot and posted it to Facebook. The recipe was banana bread. They put the loaves on at around 11 a.m. when the outside temp was 97 degrees and the dashboard was 163 degrees. By 2 p.m., the temp was 105 outside and 211 degrees in the vehicle. The rangers took the loaves out at 3 p.m. and it worked! They did agree that cookies are the easiest to cook in a hot car.
