Airline Passenger Reportedly Falls Ill After Eating Cockroach-Filled Omelet

A traveler recently criticized Air India after reportedly finding a dead cockroach in her in-flight meal. Suyesha Savant, who flew from Delhi to New York on Sept. 17, called them out on X this weekend writing, "Found a cockroach in the omelette served to me… My 2-year-old finished more than half of it with me when we found this." She added pictures and video to her post and also mentioned they suffered food poisoning as a result.

Savant shared another video detailing the plane's filth, mentioning waste bottles in seat pouches and unclean conditions. When she alerted the staff, they dismissed it as a "mistake." An Air India spokesperson confirmed awareness of the incident, saying they're investigating with their catering provider to prevent "future occurrences." This incident follows recent scrutiny over Air India's cleanliness, with another passenger describing a first-class experience as "the worst... I've ever been on."
