American WWII Bomb Buried Under A Japanese Airport Explodes

A Japanese airport was shut down yesterday after the explosion of a World War II era U.S. bomb buried below the surface. It created a crater about 23 feet wide and just over three feet deep. Almost 90 flights had to be canceled while crews worked to repair the damage. No injuries were reported and the airport has since reopened. The area where the airport is was originally a Japanese navy base.
