What Pet Owners Really Wish They Could Ask Their Pets

What would you ask your pet if you had the chance? That’s what a new survey asks 2-thousand cat and dog owners, as a lot of pet parents talk to their furry friends all the time, even though they can’t actually respond.

According to the survey, 54% admit they wish they could have a conversation with their pet to find out what they really think and feel. But 88% are still confident they truly understand their fur baby, and 41% believe their pet understands them better than any person.

  • Another 41% admit they often find themselves chatting to their pet like they’re human.
  • Nearly half (45%) of those polled have asked their pet for advice on an important life decision, like a new job or a breakup, despite knowing they won’t answer.
  • Given the chance, the top question pet parents would ask their cat or dog is “Are you happy?”
  • Some would also like to know if their pet talks about them to other animals, if their cat is plotting something, if they’re judging their human, or if they get jealous.
  • A lot of people have also imagined their pet having human qualities, like having a favorite type of food (43%), a distinct sense of humor (32%), and taking pride in their appearance (21%).
