As M&M’s celebrates its 85th birthday, it’s rolling out a new version of its candy made without artificial dyes starting in August. The catch? Blue and brown candies won’t be part of the first lineup because Mars says those colors have been especially difficult and expensive to recreate using natural ingredients. After experimenting with alternatives like pink and purple, the company decided to stick with red, yellow, orange, and green for now, with plans to bring back the full color mix by 2028.
